Cynthia Ann Ford- Larey, 74, of Hutchinson, died February 11, 2024, at her residence. She was born June 5, 1949, in Peoria, IL, to Henry James and Dorothea Mae (Powless) Ford.
Cynthia graduated from Deer Creek- Mackinaw High School in 1967, she then graduated Monticello Girls College in 1970. Cynthia worked for a couple of newspaper companies in IL, and then retired as a banker for First Bank Kansas, Hutchinson.
Cynthia loved hanging out with her friends, taking her dog out to the dog park, many different types of crafts, and shopping. She was a very generous person, so she especially loved to shop for gifts for all of her friends, not only did it bring her joy, but it brought joy to her friends receiving her gifts. Cynthia was a devoted friend, who made friends with all of her customers at the bank.
On April 10, 1972, she married Fred Larey, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared over 13 years of marriage, prior to his death on September 4, 1985.
Cynthia is survived by: her cousins, Mary Kay Eklund of Payson, AZ, Susan Jane Arterburn of Batavia, IL; and her dog buddy, Mr. Hugo Larey.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; aunt, Ruth Coddington; and dear precious dogs, Bennie and Kanen.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, Elliott Chapel.
Friends may sign her book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Cancer Council of Reno County, 1219 N. Main. Hutchinson, KS 67501.
