Dale Ray Althaus, 72, died Oct. 20, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Mammoth Springs, Ark.
He graduated from Turon High School in 1959. Dale served in the Kansas National Guard from 1961-1967. He worked at Underground Vaults and Storage for seven years then went to work as a machinist at Eaton Corporation for 27 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #982. On March 11, 1993, he married Lenora Linscheid in Hutchinson.
Dale is survived by: his wife, Lenora Atlhaus of Hutchinson; son, Marty Althaus of Hutchinson; daughter, Sandy Baumann and husband Mark of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; mother, Bertha Sisk of Plainview, Texas; four grandchildren, Bryce and Britany Baumann, Jennifer and Breanna Althaus; a great-grandchild, Jaiden Baumann; two brothers, Wayne Martin and Lyle Smith, both of Sheldon, Wash.; two sisters, Merline Scott of Plainview, Texas and Carolyn Woosley of Hutchinson; stepson, Chad Zeek of Dorrance; stepdaughter, Jacque Wisecarver and husband Dave of Hutchinson; stepson-in-law, Ray Vanek of Caldwell; five step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Velna Althaus and stepdaughter, Julie Vanek.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at First Church of the Nazarene, 4290 N Monroe, with Bones Nay officiating. Burial will be in Neola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
