Dale Emmett Bever, 45, died Aug. 3, 2008, at Cheney Reservoir.

He was born Jan. 12, 1963, in Nevada, Mo., the son of Denzel Bever and Dora Money.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1985, he was an experimental mechanic for the engineering department at Agco, Hesston.

On May 25, 1992, he married Linda Asberry Geist in Hutchinson. She died Aug. 3, 2008.

Survivors include: a son, Rodney Geist and wife Saluda, Salina; a daughter, Amy Lafayette and husband Wayne, Hutchinson; his father, Denzel, Missouri; his mother, Dora Wendt, Missouri; a brother, James, Missouri; four sisters, Linda McKee, Connie Schooly, Vicky Brown and Lisa Kettner, all of Missouri; an aunt, Hazel Gibbs, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Rodney Geist, Jr., Dayton Geist, and London and Trenton Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Bever, and his stepfather, Melvin Wendt.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at The Father's House, Hutchinson, with Pastor Allen Smith presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
