Dale E. Garber, 79, died Dec. 10, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 28, 1928, in Rice County, the son of Leo W. and Ellen M. Gillock Garber. He attended Thomas Grove Schools in Reno County. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he worked in tool and dye at Deluxe Specialties. He was a former member of the Bob Campbell post No. 1361 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Army.
On Feb. 17, 1961, at Newton, he married Betty Jo Lewis. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters Cindy Armstrong, Hutchinson, and Linda Ashcraft and husband Bob, Goddard; a brother, William Garber, Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister Oma Jean Garber; two daughters Nancy Garber, in 1960, and Pamela Garber in 1962.
Funeral will be at 1:30 Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 1p.m. until service time Friday, at the funeral home, Hutchinson.
