Obituary

Dale F. Killian, 79, died Jan. 10, 2012, at his home in Arlington. He was born June 29, 1932, in Galena, Kan., the son of Otis and Winnie Elliott Killian.

He was a farmer and later retired from PMS Foods of Hutchinson. He moved to Reno County in 1950, and later lived in Kinsley for 10 years. He was a member of the Tired Iron Club of Kinsley.

Dale married Betty Jean Conley on Feb. 24, 1952, in Macksville. She died Jan. 24, 1975.

Survivors include: a daughter, Judy Bakumenko and her husband George of South Hutchinson; a son, Jack Killian and his wife Terrie of Concord, N.C.; a brother, Roy (Bud) Killian and his wife Wanda of Hutchinson; a granddaughter, Jennifer Olberding and her husband Brian of Overland Park; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Olberding of Overland Park; his companion of 12 years, Marilyn Brodbeck of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jamie Killian; and sisters, Pauline Blackburn, Betty McAdams, and Retha Graber.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Fairlawn Burial Park, with Reverend Sara Blodgett presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. and the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., all Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Homecare of Reno County, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
