Obituary

Dale E. Logsdon, 58, died Dec. 1, 2007, at the Veterans Administration Nursing Home, Wichita.

He was born March 16, 1949, in Pratt, the son of Mervin Eugene and Carymal Vay Swonger Logsdon. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he worked in power plant operations. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1996, retiring as chief petty officer in 1996.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 and the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68.

On Dec. 14, 1970, he married Cynthia Metzler in Pratt. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Dale E. Jr.; a daughter, Diana Willeford-Austin, The Colony, Texas; a brother, David Lee, Pensacola, Fla.; and six granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the mortuary. The casket will be closed.

Memorials may be sent to the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
