Obituary

Dale G. Ricker, 83, of Hutchinson, died April 14, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born May 2, 1933, at home in Ford County, to Boaz and Lula (Andrews) Ricker.

Dale graduated from Ford High School in 1951. He was a service manager at George Nielsen Dealership for 31 years and then Dodge City Toyota for 11 years. They moved to Hutchinson in 2012. Dale was a humble and simple man who had an ornery side, which his family affectionately loved. He was a collector of items and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

On September 9, 1961, he married Edna R. Patterson in Dodge City. They shared 55 years of marriage. Dale is survived by: wife, Edna of the home; children, Doug Ricker, Tyler Ricker and wife Jenny, all of Hutchinson, Julie Myers and husband James of Wamego; grandchildren, David Kinderknecht of Lawrence, Abbey and Molly Myers of Wamego, Jenna, Luke, Reece, and Tate Ricker, all of Hutchinson; and sisters, Virginia Rodriguez of Kansas City, KS, and Linda Rainwater of Odessa, TX. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Floyd Ricker; sister, Elnora Francis; and grandson, Brennon Salem.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Dillon Nature Center, 3002 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Chaplain Amy Claassen officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
