James Fields

Dallas 'Jim' James Fields, 74, passed away December 2, 2020, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born November 13, 1946, in Colby, to Dall J. and Effie Meb (Bearley) Fields.
Jim graduated from Atwood High School and served in the United States Army. He was an independent over-the-road truck driver. Jim was an avid Harley Davidson riding enthusiast, and a member of the United Brothers motorcycle club, while living in Chico, TX. He enjoyed watching old western television shows, working with his hands, and hunting deer, pheasant, and quail. He had many jobs and titles, but the titles he treasured most were father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by: his mother, Effie M. Fields of Atwood; children, Koi (Brian) Law of Hutchinson, Karri (John) Kirkendoll of Lawson, MO, and Jacob Fields of Pretty Prairie; grandchildren, Wendy (Tanner) Schmidt, Summer (Brock) Wagoner, Shelby Fields, Sierra Fields, Jacobi Fields, Tyler Kirkendoll, Amanda (Billy) Lake, Thomas (Anastasia) Law, Kortnee Law, Craig (Christine) Law, Dustin (Hayden) Law, and Ashton (Nicholas) Garcia; ten great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dan (Evonne) Fields, and Pat (Ivan) Bohl.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dall J. Fields.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at a future date in the Fairview Cemetery, Atwood.
Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501, is in charge of arrangements.
