Dan Heimerman, 58, of Hutchinson, died August 31, 2013, in Allen County, Kansas. He was born Dec. 10, 1954, in Hutchinson, the son of Harold Joseph and Donna Mae Egbert Heimerman.
Dan was a 1973 graduated of Hutchison High School and a member of the Catholic Faith. Dan and his wife, Pam, were owner's of Carl's Bar, purchasing the establishment in February of 2006.
Survivors include: his wife, Pam; son, Lucas of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepdaughter, Cari Harper and husband Wade of Hutchinson; his mother, Donna Heimerman of Hutchinson; brothers, Doug and Jan Heimerman of Alvarado, Texas, David and Christine Heimerman of Arlington, Texas, and Don Heimerman of Ost, Ks; father-in-law, Ron Smith and his wife Cathy of Hutchinson; mother-in-law, Alice Belcher and her husband Jerry of Hutchinson; brothers-in-law, Ron Smith and his wife Sue of Wichita, and Mike Smith and his fiancé Lisa of Overland Park; three grandchildren, Gauge, Colton, and Maci Harper, all of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Harold, a brother, Darin, a stepson, Greg Stephenson, and a grandson, Wyatt Harper.
Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Thursday Sept. 5, 2013, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 26th and Plum, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. A private family graveside service will follow the mass. At Dan's request, his body will be cremated. Friends may sign the register book at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, or at Carl's Bar, 103 North Main, Tuesday and Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Dan Heimerman Memorial Fund, allowing the family time to select local charities to share the gifts. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at a location to be announced.
