Obituary

Dana K. Brown, 87, of South Hutchinson, died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Hospice House. She was born February 2, 1931, in Hutchinson to Daniel and Cecile (Glover) Hamer.

Dana graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949. She owned 'Dana's Dolls' until 2003, and taught classes on how to make porcelain dolls. Dana worked for the Kansas State Fair for 38 years primarily in the security office. She also participated in the Citizen's Police Academy.

On September 16, 1952, she married Donald 'Don' Brown. He died June 8, 2012.

Survivors include: daughters, Donna Kaufman of Hutchinson, and Carolyn Loepp of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Breean Akins with husband Adam, Kristen Kaufman, Cody Loepp, Micah Kaufman with Andrea Winnett, and Kayla Robinson with husband Cliff; six great-grandchildren, Lidia Reeves, Halynn, Rylea, and Kaylea Robinson and Kinlee and Harper Akins.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brother, William 'Bill' Hamer; and son-in-law, Les Loepp.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 3 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
