Daniel L. "Danny" Cain, 72, died December 27, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 13, 1952, in Sterling, to Marvin E. and Virginia L. (Detwiler) Cain.

Danny graduated from Sterling High School in 1970. He worked as a laborer at Compass Minerals, Lyons, for 49 years, retiring in 2023. Danny enjoyed playing cornhole with his family and attending his grandsons' basketball games.

On November 23, 1974, he married Sondra J. Cruth, in Alden. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past November.

Danny is survived by: wife, Sondra Cain; daughter, Ashley (Colby Bright) Cain; grandsons, Carson Linn, Riley Linn, Kason Bright, all of Hutchinson; siblings, Frank (Annie) Cain, Gwen Walker, Judy (Dale) Rose, Deena Groth, all of Sterling, Dennis Cain of North Carolina, and Betty (Chuck) Bateman of South Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Casey Cain; and siblings, Marvin, Dinah and Candy.

Cremation has taken place. In respect of Danny's wishes no service will be held.
