Daniel L. 'Danny' Strawn, 67, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 16, 2012, at Via Christi on St. Francis in Wichita. Danny was born March 18, 1945, in Rock Island, Ill., the son of Lawrence O. and Eva T. Cullen Strawn.
He was a Hutchinson High School graduate in 1963, and was a machinist at Central Welding for 47 years. Danny was a member of The Church of The Holy Cross, the Knights of Columbus Council #612, and was a longtime softball coach. There are no words to adequately describe Danny. He was a fun-loving, hard working man who was totally devoted to his family. His highlights were always the yearly ski trip with kids and grandkids, watching their sports activities and playing cards. He lived his life to the fullest and will truly leave an empty space in this world.
Danny married Diana Marie Rumback on August 1, 1964, in Hutchinson. Diana survives. Other survivors include: a son, Tom Strawn, Hutchinson; three daughters, Shelly Clark and husband Shawn, Amy Wagoner, all of Hutchinson, and Lori Bryant and husband Alan, Wellington, Colo.; three brothers, Larry Strawn and wife Ruby, Don Strawn and wife Sharon, and Jim Strawn and wife Linda, all of Hutchinson; a sister, Joyce Herrell and husband Melvin, Pretty Prairie; and seven grandchildren, Chase and Chance Clark, Alexis and Austin Bryant, Grace Wagoner, Adison and Brayden Strawn.
