Daniel Lee "Dan" Wicks, 65, died May 21, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita.  He was born August 24, 1958, in Kansas City, KS, to David Eugene and Dorothy Jean (Lees) Wicks.

Dan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1977.  His passion for vehicles led him to own his own business, Dan's Auto Repair & Sales, for over 40 years.  In addition, Dan was a landlord, owning Wick's Rentals.  He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, music and animals, especially dogs.   Dan's career in the vehicle business was also his hobby.  After work, he could most likely be found working on vehicles in his garage.

In 2004, he met Keith Barnes, Jr. and they became inseparable.

Dan is survived by:  his husband, Keith; brother, Darren Wicks (LuAnn), all of Hutchinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his "lucky" dog, Sassy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Elliott Chapel.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
