Daniel 'Dan' Richard Jones, 81, passed away December 22, 2020, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie.  He was born December 2, 1939, in Harper, to Richard H. and Gail C. (Railsback) Jones.

Dan was a 1957 graduate of Birmingham High School, Los Angeles, CA.  He attended Pierce Junior College, Los Angeles, CA.  Dan served in the United States Army from May 1959 to February 1965, and was stationed in Korea for two years.  He was an excellent welder, a farmer, and an employee of Reno County for several years.  Dan was of the Baptist faith.

On July 6, 1962, he married ChongSuk 'Cookie' Pak, in Seoul, Korea.  They shared over 56 years of marriage, prior to her death on January 20, 2019.

Dan is survived by: his brother, Douglas (Darlene) Jones of Green Valley, AZ; and nephew, Dale Jones of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private burial has taken place. A graveside service will be held next spring, and will be announced by Elliott Mortuary.  Fort Riley Honor Guard will conduct military honors at that time.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, December 28, through Thursday, December 31, at Elliott Mortuary.

At this time, the family has not designated any memorial recipients.  Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501, is in charge of arrangements.
