Danny Joe Coonce, 66, died November 10, 2020.  He was born May 25, 1954, in Manning, SC, to David William and Geraldine Cecilia (Carter) Coonce.

In 1983, Danny began working at McKenzie Body Shop, becoming the owner in 1986.  He retired in 2015, after working there for 32 years. Danny currently worked as a painter for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He was a proud and long-time member of the Wheat State Chapter of the American Truck Historical Association.

Danny is survived by:  children, David Coonce (Angela) of Hutchison, Tess Wesley (Jared) of Wichita, and Sarah Coonce (Josh) of Haven; seven grandchildren, Darian Shelton (Gage), Jacqueline, Zoe, and Dalton Coonce, Serena Wesley, Morrigan and Alannah Burrus;  loving companion, Vickie Luoma; sisters, Gale Cash of Larned and Kathy McAllister (John Powell) of Hutchinson; brother, Jimmy Coonce (Erin) of Hutchinson. Vickie's children, Mandy Cooper, Terri Cooper (Steve), and Shawn Cooper (Brandey); and Vickie's grandchildren, Savannah and  Kristopher Luoma, McKinnley, Ashton, and Brooklynn McAllister, Kaiden, Kayley, Kiela, and Kamryn Hamby, Gage Cooper, Garrett Conde, Natalie Cooper, and Gabriel Conde.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents, and a brother, David William Coonce, Jr.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
