Danny Ray Elam Sr., 59, of Hutchinson, died March 18, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 6, 1961, in Hutchinson, to John C. and LaVonna (Pauley) Elam.

Danny worked in equipment maintenance at Hutchinson Correctional Facility. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

On May 18, 1991, Danny married Pamela R. Graves, in Las Vegas, NV. They shared nearly 30 years of marriage and raised 2 children together.

He is survived by: children, Danny Elam Jr. (Thomas Walker), of Edmond, OK, Barbie Smith (Jordan Copeland), of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Braylee Elam-Walker, Breckyn and Ella Copeland; mother and stepfather, LaVonna Taylor and Edward Ahlmann; brothers, John Elam (Sherri), Jerry Taylor (Lisa), David Taylor (Lindsay Ford), Mike Taylor; sisters, Bonnie Elam, Peggy Southard, all of Hutchinson; and numerous extended family members.

Danny was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.

The service will be webcast and the link will be available on Danny's obituary on the funeral home website beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
