RENO, Nev. - Darin Gerard Heimerman, 38, died March 30, 2007, in Reno, Nev.
He was born Aug. 16, 1968, in Hutchinson, the son of Harold Joseph and Donna Mae Egbert Heimerman. In 1987, he graduated from Trinity Catholic High School. He also attended the University of Nevada, Reno. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, moving to Reno, Nev., in 1987, he was an independent auto broker.
He was of the Catholic faith. He belonged to YEO (Young Entrepreneurial Organization), Reno, Nev., Triathlete, and Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Challenge Century Ride.
On Nov. 13, 1999, he married Melissa Schop in Lake Tahoe. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Max and Hudson, both of the home; his mother, Donna Heimerman; four brothers, Dan, Hutchinson, Doug, Alvarado, Texas, David, Arlington, Texas, and Don, Ost; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Aloys and M. Barbara Heimerman and Buford and Gertrude Egbert.
Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Parish rosary will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be sent to Darin Heimerman Memorial Trust, for families affected by cancer or to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
