Obituary

Darrell G. Kolb, 73, died Aug. 23, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Dec. 30, 1941, in Ellsworth, to William F. and Goldie A. (Salmans) Kolb.

Darrell graduated from Nickerson High School in 1959. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Darrell worked for Consolidated Manufacturing and was known as "Cosmo", Kan-Ark Industries building churches and many residential homes, and for many years before he retired he was a carpenter.

On May 31, 1963, Darrell married Norma F. Henry at the Reno County Courthouse. She survives. Other survivors include: children, Leslie Huffman and husband Joe of Hutchinson, Jamie Kolb and wife Carol of Nickerson, Lisa Kolb and companion John Vsetecka of Great Bend; grandchildren, Cory Huffman and wife Darcy, Danny Huffman, Lauren Huffman, Tessa, Adam, and Katie Kolb; great-grandson, Payton Huffman; mother, Goldie A. Kolb; sisters, Laura Chadd and husband Paul of Greensburg, Sherry Savely and husband Charlie of Fairfield, Iowa, Gerry Brunton and husband Frank of Rolla, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Beverly Kolb-Wilder.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Henry Blickhahn presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hospice of Reno County or donor's choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
