Daryl Lynn Robbins 52, of Hutchinson, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 18, 1972 in Wichita, to Blaine and Gwinetha Stark Robbins.
Daryl attended Wichita Public schools. He worked in and raised his family in Hutchinson. He worked at Midwest Iron and Metal and Shuler Trucking before starting his career at The Hutchinson Correctional Facility. Daryl was so proud to be part of the correctional facility starting as a corporal and working his way up to Master Sergeant before having to medically retire in 2011.
On May 19, 1993, he married Carmella Thompson in Wichita. They shared 18 years of marriage and raised three beautiful children. He later met and fell in love with Ame Baldridge who he was blessed to spend the remainder of his life with.
Daryl was always known for being the life of the party. In later years, he faced many health issues, but continued to enjoy fishing and working in his shop. His greatest joy by far was the time spent with his grandchildren, coloring and playing games. He was their beloved Papa.
Daryl is survived by: his children, Sarah (Jon) Blanton, Cole Robbins, both of Hutchinson, and Makayla (Eli) Corino of Moundridge; significant other and love of his life, Ame Baldridge and her children Josie (Cody) Driskell and Darien Baldridge; grandchildren, Kaden Robbins, Kolton Robbins, Max Blanton, Lily Phillips, Kassidy Corino, Jordan Corino and Wyatt Driskell; sister, Deanna Stewart; brother, David Robbins; nephews, Phillip (Chelsea) Stewart and Jason Stewart; and mother of his children, Carmella de Beer (Wilhelm).
He was proceeded in death by his parents.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Dr, Hutchinson, KS 67502 with the Rev. Dr. J. Ted Blakley officiating. Friends may sign the book Wednesday through Friday from 9am to 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to American Heart Association or Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City, MO, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
