David Wayne Ballard, 50, died Oct. 8, 2014, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born March 22, 1964, in Hutchinson, to Bill R. and Rosalie (Williams) Ballard.

He worked for TECH Workshop doing many jobs throughout the years. Survivors include: his sisters, Jerri Cook and husband Ted of Hutchinson, Nancy Bixby and husband David of Salina; brothers, Mick Ballard and wife Bonnie, Rick Ballard and wife Lana, all of Hutchinson, Bill Ballard and wife Sharis of Inman; nephews, Brian Ballard, Jay Ballard, Steven Ballard, Ross Ballard, Jake Bixby, Ryan Cook, and David Cook; a niece, Courtney Bixby Alexander; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents and grandparents.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Community Church of The Brethren, 1600 N. Severance, Hutchinson, with Ed Switzer and Marlo Oltman presiding. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
