David Jay Bass, 64, of Hutchinson, died June 15, 2018, at Hahns Peak Lake, Colorado. He was born November 24, 1953, in Muskogee, OK, the son of J.B. and Barbara (Whitby) Bass. David attended Hutchinson High School, was on the high school varsity wrestling team while in 9th grade at Liberty Middle School, and went to the state wrestling tournament as a 10th grader. He graduated from Muskogee High School, with the class of 1972, and attended Rose State College in Midwest City, OK. David was a realtor in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado, and sold custom homes in New Mexico, Texas and Hawaii. He was one of the youngest licensed real estate brokers in Oklahoma at the age of 21.
On October 18, 1983, David married Patricia 'Patty' Reinert in Hawaii, and in 1988 they welcomed the joy of their lives, their son, Jeremy David.
David is survived by: his wife of 34 years, Patty; son Jeremy; father, J.B. Bass; mother-in-law, Betty Reinert; sisters, Lisa Adamson, Gayle Yarbrough (David), and Stacye Beane (Bill); sister-in-law, Ellen Shook (Roger); nieces and nephews, Tiffany Bowley (Jarrod) and sons, Jaxon, Kasen and Laken, Jason Adamson (Lacey), Nathan Yarbrough (Jenny) and children, Evie, Elliot and Eleanor, Blake Yarbrough (Kathryn) and daughter, Savana, Beau Beane (Alyssa), Kaleigh Beane, Travis Shook, and Courtney Helgerson (Philip); aunt, Joan Murray Hogan; uncles, Dale Whitby and Bob Holwell; numerous cousins; a large extended family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Barbara; father-in-law, Carroll Reinert; grandparents, Stanley and Jessie Whitby and Floyd and Mary Elizabeth Bass.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
