David R. Brown, 56, died Oct. 27, 2015, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born June 11, 1959, in Oahu, Hawaii, to Gerald and Lucy (Ellis) Brown.

David graduated from Buhler High School in 1977, served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He is survived by: mother, Lucy Kennedy; brothers, Gordon Brown, Danny Brown, all of Hutchinson; sister, Carrie Carlson (Doug) of Herington; stepbrother, Robert Kennedy (Patti); stepsister, Jami Martin (Mark), all of Hutchinson; and beloved dog, Boomer. David was preceded in death by: his father; stepfather, Jim Kennedy; uncle, David Ellis; and sister-in-law, Lynn Phillips Brown.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Henry Blickhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with family to receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
