David Eugene Brubaker, 78, died September 17, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born July 15, 1947, in Hutchinson, to Floyd John and Elizabeth (Skellenger) Brubaker.

David owned his own auto mechanic shop, "Dave's Service and Garage". He loved working on cars and helping his customers. In addition, David enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and racing cars, especially radio-controlled cars. He was also a member of the Kansas Army National Guard.

On December 10th, 1968, he married Goldie Ann Gates, in Anthony, KS. They shared over 49 years of marriage, prior to her death on November 27th, 2018.

David is survived by: his children, Ronnie (Sara) Brubaker and Sherry Brubaker Treece both of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, David, Haley, and Charity Treece; and sister, Geneane Winchell of Kiowa, KS.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; brothers, Kenneth and Tunnie Lee; and sister, Judy Silcott.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025 at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Cindy Dubovich officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
