David H. Darling, Jr.'s Obituary
STERLING - David H. Darling Jr., 84, died June 27, 2006, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling.
He was born July 18, 1921, in Wichita, the son of David H. Sr. and Ariel V. Trapp Darling. He was a 1940 graduate of Hutchinson High School, attended Hutchinson Community College and a Radio and TV Institute in Los Angeles, Calif. Blind since his early 20s, he was a retired independent TV and radio repairman and prior to that was an assemblyman during World War II for Cessna.
Survivors include: a brother, Lester G., Hutchinson; a sister, Darlene E. Bartholomew, South Bend, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Duane G., LaVerne A. and Dudley E.; and a sister, Doris L. Franzen.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Dallas Darling presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
