David Ray Gaeddert, 52, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016. He was born Aug. 12, 1964, in Hutchinson, the son of Gerald Ray and Doris Marie (Krauter) Gaeddert.
He was a 1983 graduate of Fairfield High School and graduated the following year from Northwest Kansas Area Vocational-Technical School in Goodland. After graduation, David worked construction in Goodland and Colorado before moving to Hutchinson in 1990 to work in the Park Department for the City of Hutchinson. He retired from his position as Park Maintenance Supervisor in January 2016, after serving the city for 26 years.
On Feb. 2, 1991, he married Darla Dawn Unruh in Buhler. She survives. Other survivors include: their children, Caleb, Courtney, Cyson, Colby and Candice, all of the home; parents, Gerald and Doris of Abbyville; mother-in-law, Carol Unruh of Burrton; siblings, Tim Gaeddert (Terri) of Hutchinson, Karen Weber (Alan) of Salina, and Kevin Gaeddert (Misha) of Plevna. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Chester Unruh.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Crestview Bible Church, 2401 N. Halstead, Hutchinson, with Pastors Phil Auxier and Steve Hodgson presiding. Burial will follow at Burrton Cemetery. Visitation, with family present, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Crestview Bible Church.
