David T. Hindman, 44, died Feb. 24, 2007, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born March 29, 1962, in Minneola, the son of Paul John and Marian June Priester Hindman. A resident of Hutchinson for 20 years, moving from Medicine Lodge, he was a financial planner with Waddell & Reed the last six years. Prior to Waddell & Reed, he was a medical technologist at Hutchinson Hospital.
He belonged to Northminster Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the USD 308 Board of Education since 2001, serving as president in 2004 to 2005; he was involved in the Ulster Project and Head Start program; was a youth group sponsor at Trinity United Methodist Church; a member of the community improvement commission; member of the Chamber of Commerce; and was a Chamber Ambassador.
On Sept. 15, 1984, he married Debbie K. Warkentin in Newton. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Todd Hindman of the home and his fiancee, Cheryl Neill of Portadown, Northern Ireland; a daughter, Lesa Hindman, of the home; two brothers, the Rev. Ed Hindman and wife, Cindy, Denison, and Leslie Hindman and wife, Ruth, Salina; his mother-in-law, Letha Warkentin; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Warkentin, both of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Gary Warkentin; and a nephew, Paul David Hindman.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Sherman, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Skip Johnson presiding. Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Chapel, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the David T. Hindman Memorial Fund, in care of the Hutchinson Community Foundation.
