SOUTH HUTCHINSON - David M. Miller, 92, died May 31, 2008, at Mennonite Manor.
He was born March 19, 1916, in Hutchinson, the son of David J. and Mary Yutzy Miller.
He was a farmer, and belonged to the Plainview Mennonite Church.
On May 12, 1940, he married Laura Wagler in Hutchinson. She died June 22, 1985. On Dec. 27, 1987, he married Orpha (Yoder) Kauffman, in Middlebury, Ind. She died Sept. 13, 1996.
Survivors include: sons, Harold and wife Betty, Irwin, Ohio, Kenneth and wife Marietta, Hutchinson, Norman and wife Carolyn, Middlebury, Ind., Ellis and wife Joye, Hutchinson, Nathan and wife Karen, Irwin, Ohio; stepchildren, Norman Kauffman and wife Clara, Middlebury, Ind., LaVern Kauffman and wife Esther, Falcon, Colo., Maxine Miller and husband Larry, Macon, Miss., Rhoda Greer and husband, Steve, Goshen Ind., Paul Kauffman and wife Carol, Goshen Ind.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; and 24 step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Esther; four brothers, Levi, Daniel, Andrew and John, also by two sisters, Fannie Kauffman and Mary Helmuth.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Plainview Mennonite Church, with Pastors Terry Yoder, Jeremy Miller and Tim Miller presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Plainview Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Plainview Mennonite Church Cemetery.
