David Paul "Dave" Wilson, 65, died April 13, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 10, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Merle and Rosemary (Cyphert) Wilson.
He was a respected craftsman and former concrete foreman. Dave was a remarkable man full of knowledge, who had a passion for woodworking and an art for concrete finishing. (We cannot wait to see the stairway to Heaven he has made.) He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and time with his family. His pride and joy were his kids and grandkids.
Dave married Debi Payne on April 12, 1969, in Hutchinson. They just celebrated 46 wonderful years together. She survives. Other survivors include: his sons, Jeff Wilson and wife Jenny of Hutchinson, Jake Wilson of South Hutchinson; daughter, Christa Hunt of Hutchinson; son-in-law, Mark Hunt of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Chase Depew, Austin Hunt, Ashleigh Wilson, Savannah Wilson; mother, Rosemary Wilson of Wichita; sisters, Janette Chipas and husband Tony of South Carolina, Teresa Wells and husband Gary of Iowa, Cathy Smith and husband Ron of Hutchinson, and Lisa Wilson of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father.
Parish rosary will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, with a Catholic funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m., at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family would like to invite friends to join them to share fond memories of Dave and enjoy a meal together at 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at The Knights of Columbus, 1200 W. 15th Ave., Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
