STERLING - David Alfred Skinner, 62, died Feb. 9, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 17, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Homer Alfred and Leona Jane Bishop Skinner.
David was a ham radio operator, loved woodworking, farming and gardening. He was a Civil War buff who loved history and genealogy. David also enjoyed drawing, drafting and learning.
On Aug. 1, 1969, he married Linda Brunson at Bethany Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughter, Ruth McCaleb and husband Robert of Stafford; son, Nathan Skinner of Lawrence; mother, Leona Jane Skinner of Hutchinson; sister, Anita Friesen and husband Richard of Hutchinson; brother, Daniel Skinner and wife Barbara of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Rebecca Engfer, Sara Engfer, Alondra McCaleb, Tanya McCaleb, Josian Ridge; and great-grandson, Zakk Engfer. David was preceded in death by his father, Homer Alfred Skinner.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Bethany Church of the Nazarene, 408 N. Kent Road, with Pastor Jay Bessmer officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family to receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
