David H. Tweito, Md's Obituary
David H. Tweito, M.D., died July 9, 2014, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born June 16, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Thomas Elmore and Eleanor Marie (Frese) Tweito.
David graduated from East High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1956 and Morningside College in 1961. He graduated from the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1964. He was a Board Certified Pediatrician. David was an avid golfer and he loved traveling and history.
He married Connie Coberly in 1966. She died in 1999. On Sept. 11, 2000, he married Patricia (Wiens) Balzer in Lihue Kauai, Hawaii. She survives. Other survivors include: four sons, David Tweito Jr. (Megan) of Charlotte, NC, Tim Tweito (Archana) of Las Vegas, Nev., Mark Tweito, Matt Tweito of Abu Dhabi, UAE; two stepsons, Andy Balzer of Plainfield, Ill. and Matt Balzer (Tobey) of Thompson's Station, Tenn.; brother, Tom Tweito (Carol) of Hutchinson; and eight grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Connie Tweito.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, with Reverend Lowell Knauss officiating. Private inurnment will be in the church columbarium. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the Coberly-Tweito Scholarship Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
