Obituary

Dean Morford, 62, died Oct. 20, 2007, at his home, Hutchinson.

He was born Sept. 14, 1945, in Hugoton, the son of Gordon and Grace Kinser Morford. He graduated in 1963 from Hugoton High School and in 1969 from Emporia State University. A resident of Hutchinson, he was a financial planner and consultant and owner of Benefits Plus Inc.

He belonged to the First Presbyterian Church. He served in the U. S. Air National Guard.

On June 14, 1969, he married Elizabeth "Liz" Kabureck in Emporia. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Chad, Prairie Village; a daughter, Deana Allen, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Gary, Phoenix, Leo, Monte Vista, Colo., and Terry, Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Wanda Hicks, O'Fallon, Ill., and Wilma Steers, Coolidge, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Tim Soule presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Brain Tumor Association, in care of the funeral home.
