Dean F. Pickerill, 91, died Nov. 29, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Ness County, the son of Frank J. and Jesse F. McKelvey Pickerill. In 1933, he graduated from Hutchinson High School. A resident of Hutchinson, he was owner and operator of Pickerill Concrete and Block Co. for 40 years.
He belonged to South Hutchinson Christian Church.
On Sep. 23, 1950, he married Helen Maxine Southworth in South Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bill and wife, Phyllis, Great Bend, and Bob and wife, Yvonne, Overland Park; a daughter, Mary White and husband, Doug, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Brad and Doug Pickerill, Blake and Chris White, Angela and Christina Graham, and Tamara Young.; two step-grandchildren, Cindy and Daphne; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Howard Pickerill, and a grandson, Brent Pickerill.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum with Pastor Brian Barrie presiding. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
