Del Knauer, 91, died December 2, 2014, at his home. He was born May 24, 1923, in Barnard, KS the son of William F. and Leitha (Eddy) Knauer. He was a graduate of KSU and KU, and taught at Hutchinson High School for thirty-seven years. After retiring in 1987 he was for eleven years the volunteer Director of the Hutchinson Art Center.

He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Hutchinson. He served on the Vestry of his church and on several Boards of Directors, including the Downtown Development Board, The Reno County Museum, The Hutchinson Public Library, and the Landmarks Commission.

He is survived by two sisters: Darlene Mackintosh of Omaha, NE, and Mary Lu Haas of Manhattan, KS.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Kobett.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Dr, Hutchinson, 67502. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Grace Episcopal Church or Hutchinson Art Center in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, 67501.
