Delila M. "Dee" Freer, 67, died June 13, 2010, at her home, Hutchinson.
She was born June 19, 1942, in Pratt, the daughter of Herman B. and Dorotha Mae Donner McDowell.
She attended high school in Hutchinson and Great Bend, attended Hutchison Community College and received her nursing degree from McPherson College. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a nurse at several Hutchinson health care facilities.
She belonged to Full Gospel Church.
She married James E. Lewis. He preceded her in death. On Jan. 1, 1987, she married Lawrence G. "Larry" Freer in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 15, 2003.
Survivors include: son, Michael Lewis, Hutchinson; daughters, Virginia LaForce, Nickerson, and Shantel Ezell, Hutchinson; eight stepchildren; brother, Harlan McDowell, Hutchinson; sisters, Nancy Foster, Wichita, Linda White, Hutchinson, Kathy Valleau, Tulsa, Okla., and Bonnie Wallace, Newkirk, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sue McClelland.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Full Gospel Church, 414 E. Ave. G, with Pastor Betty Pinkston presiding. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
