PAPILLION, Neb. - Delma J. Pearson, 71, of Papillion, Neb., formerly of Hutchinson, died May 6, 2011, at Bellevue Medical Center, Bellevue, Neb.
She was born Oct. 10, 1939, at Dodge City, the daughter of Otto Rich and Lola M. Mullen Pearson.
She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1957, Arkansas City Junior College in 1959 and Grace School of Nursing in 1964. She later graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1978. She was a registered nurse and a certified diabetes educator. Delma was a member of Park Place Christian Church.
Survivors include: two brothers, Gavin Pearson and wife Ruth of Renton, Wash., and Keith Pearson and wife Wilma of Smith Center; nephews, Larry Pearson, Leslie Pearson, Rodger Abbott and Eric Pearson; and nieces, Marianne Veenker and Melanie Raabe. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at Park Place Christian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Promise Regional Medical Center Diabetes Education Department or to Dillon Nature Center, both sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson KS 67501.
