Delmas H. Kling, 84, died April 3, 2009, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Wetmore, the son of Herbert C. and Beryl F. Williams Kling. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he retired after 27 years at the Hutchinson Hospital and most of those years at Grace Hospital.

On July 31, 1949, he married Evelyn F. Unruh in Wetmore. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, Rose Ann Rostine and husband Jim, Arizona, Glenn Kling and wife Moon, California, Jane Angell and husband Ken, Hutchinson, Mark Kling and wife Sutha, Hawaii, Stephanie Kirmer and husband Craig, Utah; eight grandchildren, Fran, Anthony, Stacey, Ryan, Jessica, Eric, Matthew, Kaleb; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth, St. Marys, and Ernest Lee Kling, Hiawatha; and sister, Delores Schlodder, Holton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; four sisters; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Robert L. Albin presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Delmas H. Kling Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.
