Dennis Michael “Denny” Allen, age 80, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on June 10, 2026. 

Born August 6, 1945, in Hutchinson, Kansas, Denny was the son of Olen and Margarite Allen. He married Patty Hendershot on March 14, 1986, and together they shared 40 years of marriage. 

Denny spent many years working at the Dillons Warehouse before continuing his career at Collins. He was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and commitment to his family and community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with those he loved.

In his younger years, Denny enjoyed playing the drums. Later in life, he became an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching games, following his favorite teams, and occasionally trying his luck with a friendly wager. He especially enjoyed discussing sports with family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife, Patty Allen; his children, John Mailloux (Cindy), Lesa Hoover (Troy), Lea Watson (Mike), Paul Allen (Kelli), Deanna Knight (Chet), Julie Simon (Adam VanWay), and Melissa Ryan (Chad Bryant); his grandchildren, Ashley Knight, Brett Knight, Garrett Price, Lindsey Simon (Jarin Gomez), Zachary Price, and many other beloved grandchildren; his great-grandchildren, Maddox Knight, Gavin Ullom, and Penelope Ullom; his uncle, Ed Watkins; and many other cherished family members whom he loved dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Margarite Allen, and his brothers, John Allen and Chris Allen. 

Denny will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hardworking nature, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
