NICKERSON - Dennis L. Pauly, 56, died March 22, 2010, at his home in Nickerson.
He was born May 25, 1953, in Wichita, to Cyril and Agnes Beat Pauly.
He was raised in Cheney and moved to Nickerson in 1962. He was a graduate of Nickerson High School and Dodge City Community College with a degree in Agriculture. He farmed and was a truck driver for Ramsey Oil Company.
He was a member of Holy Cross and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe. He was a member of Knights of Columbus.
He married Colleen Smith in Hutchinson in 1996. She survives.
Other survivors include: a stepdaughter, Joyce Salazar, Concordia; his mother, Agnes Pauly Clasen, Hutchinson; a step-brother, Jerry Clasen and wife Debbie, Nickerson; sisters, Karen Turnis, Elfredia, Ariz., Sharon Boyer, Globe, Ariz.; a stepsister, Gwen Myers and husband Howard, Hutchinson; aunts, Betty Custer, Wichita, Lou Vauhn, Yukon, Okla. and Doris Pauly, Garden Plain; uncles, John Beat and wife Mary, Wichita and Dean Pauly and wife Evelyn, Clonmel; four step-grandchildren, Robert, Mia and Ashton Salazar and Xaiver Lyon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Sylvester Clasen.
Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Church of the Holy Cross, with Father Joseph Eckberg officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation will take place. The Rosary will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. prior to the mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Dennis Pauly Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
