Dennis D. Smith-Thomas, 69, died June 19, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born March 20, 1941, in Hutchinson to Marten Dale and Wilma Faye Hester Smith.
Dennis was in the wholesale/retail record business. He served in the United States Navy from 1963-67.
Survivors include: son, Darin Rodriquez Thomas, Wichita; daughter, Marla Thomas, Topeka; six grandchildren, Jordan Thomas, Andria Flores, Julian DelValle, Ciara Pando, Chanel Vargas, Shyla Vargas; a great grandchild, Nayelli Flores; mother, Wilma Thomas, Hutchinson; half-brother, Mark Thomas, Santa Monica, Calif.; two half-sisters, Kimberly Thomas, Hutchinson, and Susan Bird, Yuma, Colo.; ex-wife, Paula Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Lynda McKinley.
Graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Fairlawn Burial Park, with Pastor Luke Helmuth officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to Leukemia Research Foundation, in care of the mortuary.
