Dennis Keith Tucker, 86, died August 6, 2026, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born April 5, 1940, in Coldwater to Keith Monroe and Christina Adeline “Deanie” (Thornhill) Tucker.

Dennis was a 1959 graduate of Coldwater High School. He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. After moving to Hutchinson, Dennis worked at Cessna as a line operator. He later became a police officer for the City of Hutchinson and retired after 25 years on the force. In his retirement, Dennis worked at Conklin Cars and transported cars throughout the region. He was a member of American Legion Lylse Rishel Post 68 and Central Kansas Corvette Association. Dennis enjoyed listening to classic country music and travelling throughout the state to attend car shows. He was quite ornery and showed his love to his family and friends through teasing and jokes. Dennis attended Crestview Bible Church.

On January 3, 1964, he married Bonnie J. (Attaberry) Haas, in Colorado Springs, CO. With this marriage he gained a son, JD Haas. Together Bonnie and Dennis shared 47 years of marriage, prior to her death on November 18, 2011.

On October 31, 2017, Dennis married Diana Lynn Long, in Hutchinson. They shared over eight years of marriage. Dennis also gained Diana’s loving family who added so much to his life.

Dennis is survived by: his wife, Diana Tucker; son, JD and wife, Stephanie Haas; stepchildren, Kim and husband, Dr. James Bothwell, all of Hutchinson, and Jason (Heather) Howell of Haven; brother-in-law, Jim Lewis of Pratt; grandchildren, Megahn (Phil) Auxier of Hutchinson, Jake (Lilli) Haas of Chicago, Jordan (Chandra) Thompson, Ben (Jess) Thompson, both of Olathe, Bryndi (Kai) Ezell of Kansas City, MO, McCartney (Sierra) Johnson of Loveland, CO, Chelsey (Matthew) Graham of AZ, Andrew Howell of Wichita, Jared (Alexa) Eash of Arlington, Tyler (Amanda) Eash of Abbyville, Lindsy Eash of Hutchinson; Kelsy (Caeden) Fly of Inman, Courtney (Alex) Edwards of Kansas City, William (Hanna) Bothwell of Yukon, OK, Noah Powell of Haven, Jordan Powell of MN; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Gabe, Lauren and Micah Auxier, Charlie and Parker Thompson, Ruby, Remi and Rahley Thompson, Rowyn and Teller Ezell, Theo and Ruben Haas; Emmalyn Graham, Landin Schaffter, Charlie and Cooper Eash, Harper and Ryker Eash, Cannon Bryan, Blakelyn Barker, Kohyn and Karsyn Hill, Kambrie and Kip Fly, James and Wayne Edwards, Owen Bothwell; as well as many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Bonnie Tucker; grandson, Jacob Thompson; stepson, Ray Howell; and sister, Bonnie Lewis.

Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2025, at Crestview Bible Church, 2401 N. Halstead, Hutchinson, with grandson-in-law Pastor Phil Auxier officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Family asks those attending to bring their classic cars, in honor of Dennis’ love of car shows and involvement in the Central Kansas Corvette Association. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
