Dick Yoder, 83, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Clarence Center, N.Y., the son of Joseph J. and Fannie Schrock Yoder.
He was a farmer, Pronto Pup Owner, a church organist and belonged to South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.
On Aug. 21, 1954, he married Lucille Schulz in Cheraw, Colo. She died April 4, 2000.
He is survived by his children and spouses, Tim and Beth Yoder, Pella, Iowa, Dixie and Dwight Wedel, Buhler; three sisters and a brother, Blanche Showalter, Mickie Bontrager, Mary Lou Showalter and Don Yoder; seven grandchildren, Parker, Taylor and Elise Wedel, Cathryn, Sarah, Emma and Thomas Yoder. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick; grandson, Mason Wedel; a brother, Al; and a sister, Vera Bontrager.
A graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Fairlawn Garden Mausoleum, followed by a memorial service, 11 a.m. at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church with Pastors Howard Wagler and Eric Miller officiating. His casket will remain closed. Friends may sign his register from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.
