Dolores Catherine Crathorne, 79, passed away at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Friday, Aug. 7, 2015. She was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Munjor, the daughter of Aegidious and Clara (Gross) Pfannenstiel. The family moved to Hutchinson when she was 3 years old. She attended St. Teresa's Grade and High School where she was cheerleader and basketball queen. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
On May 26, 1956, she married Gerald L. Crathorne. Together they had two sons, Steven and Scott. She helped on the Furthmyer family farm near Gorham, cooking for harvest crews and driving wheat trucks. Dolores also farmed and kept books for their family farm. She was a great cook and loved to cook for her family. All the children and grandchildren can attest to the fact that Dolores leaves a legacy of love and compassion with her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who always cared more for her family than she did for herself.
Dolores is survived by: her husband, Gerald; sons, Steven and wife Lori of Victoria, and Scott of Gorham; grandchildren, Melissa and husband Dave, Joseph and wife Beth, and Kaitlyn, and Cody; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton and Madelyn Robben, Hannah, Gracie and Natalie Crathorne, Kayden and Kennedi Crathorne, sisters, Juanita Ketchum, Mary Westgate, Freida Young, and Velma Seitz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Darlene Melland.
Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Avenue, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at the church, with Father Michael Maybriar officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
