Dolores "Dee" M. Powell, 75, died Sept. 3, 2008, at Thorne Care Center of Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born March 12, 1933, at Bertrand Nebraska, to Frank and Edna Anderson Bose.

She was a Hutchinson resident since 1963, moving here from Lexington, Nebraska. She graduated from Larned High School in the class of 1950. She worked at Sears Dept. Store, Hutchinson, in the credit dept. for many years. Later she was Personnel Manager for several years at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, before retiring.

She belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Circle 2, where she coordinated funeral dinners. She was active in the Altrusa organization in Hutchinson and volunteered at the Hutchinson Public Library in the bookstore.

On April 4, 1954, she married Donald F. Powell in Larned. He died Oct. 1, 2004.

Survivors include: daughter, Debra Stephan and husband Mo, Moundridge, Deanna Willm, Omaha Neb.; brothers, Myron Bose, Harrisonville Mo., Randall Bose, Indio, Calif.; two grandchildren, Matthew Stephan and his wife Jenni, Moundridge, Amanda Stephan; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Brook Stephan.

She was preceded in death by: parents and one sister, Jaunis Tammen.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Private Family Inurnment will be at a later date at the Larned Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund or Hospice Care of Kansas.
