Obituary

Donald E. Hall, 68, of Hutchinson, died May 20, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident on U.S. 50 Highway, southeast of Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 3, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA., the son of Everette and Nora Arff Hall.

His family moved to Milbank, South Dakota, where he grew up and attended school. He entered the United States Air Force and retired from the military after a 20-year career. He later moved to Hutchinson where he worked at A.D. Rayl Motor Co., and later at Hambelton-LaGrega. Donald was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

On Aug. 18, 1962, he married Mary Alice DeWitt in Wichita. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Russell Hall and wife Sandra, McPherson; a daughter, Diana Lambert and husband Cavin, Hutchinson; and grandchildren Michelle Miller, Brody Kappel, and Derek Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Melvin Hall; and a granddaughter Erika Hall on Aug. 10, 1995.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Andy Addis presiding. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from McConnell Air Force Base. A book can be signed at the funeral home Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the family will greet friends Thursday evening 6 to 7 p.m., all at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to T.L.C. of the V.A. Hospital in Wichita, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, Ks. 67501.
