Obituary

Donald Dean "Don" Lindt, 83, died Aug. 25, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Kingman, to John and Maggie (Lewis) Lindt.

Don graduated from Liberal High School in 1951 and Wichita State University. He served during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. Don was a Hutchinson resident since 1963, moving from Wichita to be president of the new Data Center, Inc. until 1977. In 1977, he purchased Roberts, Inc. In 1990, Roberts, Inc. merged with Roberts Hutch-Line, where Don served as co-owner until his retirement in 1995. Don was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

On Aug. 25, 1956, he married Ruth Ann Wilbur in Wichita. She died Feb. 21, 2015. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage prior to her death.

Survivors include: children, Kathy Gifford of Overland Park, Mike Lindt and wife Tami of Haven; grandchildren, Tiffany Miller of Tulsa, Okla., Justin Dirks of Edmond, Okla., Michael Lindt, Allison Lindt, both of Downers Grove, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Carson and Coen Miller, and Quinn Dirks; sister, Marjorie Campbell of Oklahoma; niece, Cheryl Kammerer; and nephews, Curt Lindt and Kenny Campbell. He was preceded in death by: his parents; infant son, Mark Lindt; two brothers, Lewis and Bob Lindt; and two nieces, Linda and Lana Campbell.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverends Michael McGuire and Jim Rhaesa officiating. Military honors will be conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. A private family inurnment will be held prior to the memorial service. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
