Donald Eugene Loupee, 85, died December 30, 2014, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born September 5, 1929, in Newton, Iowa, to Elmer and Esther Elizabeth (Doak) Loupee.
He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954 and later graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, in 1958. Donald worked as a foreman carpenter building many beautiful houses throughout central Iowa. He married Marilyn Jean Higdon on September 5, 1954 in Newton, Iowa. She survives.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Debra A.L. Waggoner and husband Paul, Hutchinson; grand children, Andrew Waggoner and wife Michelle, Elizabeth Davis and husband James Davis, C. Zoe Schumm and husband Joshua; great grandson, Adler Eugene Davis; brother, Burton Loupee and wife Gerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service and burial will take place in Newton, Iowa, on Saturday, January 10, 2015. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or to the Building Trades Education Program at Hutchinson Community College in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
