Donald M. Nelson Jr., aka "Junior," 64, of Lyons, died January 31, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita. He was born September 11, 1958, in Lyons, to Donald M. and Millie R. (Moore) Nelson Sr.

Junior graduated from Sterling High School. He was a truck driver for Sterling Drilling and then for Central Prairie Co-op for many years. Junior was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He also enjoyed traveling to various towns to eat at their restaurants and gambling in casinos. Junior absolutely adored his three great-nieces, Addysyn, Kallie, and Kimberly - aka "Tootie."

He is survived by: his sisters, Shirley, Donna, Tena, Janet, Bonnie, Cindy, Kristi; and many extended family members.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Becky Ann Nelson and Debbie Davis.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the Alden Community School Building, 305 4th St., Alden. A private family inurnment will take place in Alden Valley Cemetery.
