Donald Gene O'Neal, 72, died Sept. 24, 2014, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Robert and Thelma Mae Stewart O'Neal.
He was a 1960 graduate of Partridge High School and attended Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. He retired from Cessna as a production planner after 35 years. Donald was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and Eaton Gun Club.
On Aug. 27, 1961, he married Willamae "Willy" Motte in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Tom O'Neal and wife Brenda of Chapman, Robert O'Neal and wife Laura of Hutchinson, Tim O'Neal of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jordan and Riley O'Neal of Chapman, Kalie, Mason, and Deegan O'Neal, all of Hutchinson; brothers, James O'Neal of Hutchinson, Steven O'Neal of Ellsworth and Kenneth O'Neal of Hutchinson; sisters, Susan Steward of Hutchinson, and Mary Kay Wells of Mahopac, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Butch, Robert, Earnest and Ronald O'Neal; sisters, Patricia Goss and Barbara Pitzer.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Crossroads Christian Church, 4310 N. Monroe, Hutchinson, Kan., with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
