Donald Roger Paque, 73, died April 1, 2006, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born April 23, 1932, in Green Bay, Wis., the son of Ray and Evelyn Vandeleest Paque. He graduated high school at Green Bay. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he retired in 1995, as the owner and operator of Venture Industries and Mid-America Wholesale.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
On March 18, 1976, he married Beverly Ann Hendershot in Missouri. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Dana and wife Becky Paque, Wichita; and a daughter, Donna Powers, all of Wichita; four step-sons, Ronald Hendershot and wife Clare, Garland, Texas, Dennis Hendershot and friend Dona Patterson, Pretty Prairie, Clinton Hendershot and wife Lori, and Jerald Hendershot and wife Kathy, all of Hutchinson; step-daughter, Deborah and husband, Larry Irsik, Pretty Prairie; a brother, Robert, Ames, Iowa; four sisters, Jane Hanson, Pennsylvania, Susan Johnson, Florida, Kathy Barry, Minneapolis, Minn., and Virginia Bakken, Madison, Wis.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and his best friend, "Mocha" his chocolate Labrador.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darcy Paque.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Curtis Coombs presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Lyle Rishel Post No. 68.
