Obituary

Donald William Parker, 79, passed away June 10, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  He was born October 24, 1942, in Hutchinson, KS, to William E. Lee and Marie Wave (Smyres) Parker.

Donald was a 1961 graduate of Hutchinson High School.  He served in the United States Army.  Donald was employed as a machine and boiler operator at Cessna/Eaton Corporation, retiring with over 43 years of service.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.

Donald was a lifelong motorcycle rider.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially to Spangles to have breakfast with the Romeo Motorcycle Club.  After Donald's retirement in 2009, he and his wife would travel every year to Texas for six months, where they made lifelong friends.

On March 10, 1971, he married Phyllis Ann Scott, in Newkirk, OK.  They shared over 51 years of marriage.

Donald is survived by:  his wife, Phyllis Parker of Hutchinson, KS; sons, Chad (Jamie) Parker of Wichita, KS, and Matthew (Andrea) Parker of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Dayton (Kaylee) Snow, Ashlin Parker, Elizabeth (Josh) Gillis, Cierra (Dominque) Berendsen, Kayla Parker, Jacob Gillis, and Cassidy Parker; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 Toys for Tots, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
